Helen “Libby” McNeill Dilleshaw Kimsey, 83, wife of Robert Kimsey, of Calhoun Falls, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at her home. She was born in Abbeville to the late Robert N. McNeill and Helen Hall McNeill.
Mrs. Kimsey was employed by the Abbeville Shirt Plant before her time at Burlington Industries where she later retired. A member of First Baptist Church in Calhoun Falls, she enjoyed singing in the choir. Planting flowers in the spring brought her much pleasure. Mrs. Kimsey will be remembered for her love of family and her caring nature.
In addition to her first husband, James Luther “Mike” Dilleshaw, and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Dilleshaw; two brothers, Robert McNeill and his wife, the late Claytie Loftis McNeill, and Dewitt McNeill and his wife, the late Evelyn McNeill; a sister-in-law, Mildred McNeill and a brother-in-law, Alvin Botts.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, of 57 years of the home; her daughter, Rena Ingle (Steve), of Piedmont; her sons, Michael Dilleshaw (Kaye), of Elberton, GA and Robby Kimsey (Nicole) of Calhoun Falls; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Dilleshaw, of Calhoun Falls; two brothers, Harold McNeill, and Paul McNeill (Sandra); a sister, JoAnn Botts, all of Abbeville; ten grandchildren, Jamie, Roxie, Brittany, Jennifer, Ashley, MaKayla, William, Katie, Heath and Jonathan; and seven great-grandchildren, Evan, Robert, Penelope, Lewis, Daniel, Carrie and Kali.
The family will receive friends 2:00PM – 3:00PM Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home, ABBEVILLE Chapel, 302 North Main Street. Funeral services will begin at 3:30PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Scott Bernshausen officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
