Helen Hedden Mann, 93, of Abbeville, died peacefully Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Pickens County to the late Thomas Lee and Della York Allsep. Mrs. Mann was twice married, first to the late James Virgil Hedden and second, to the late William Fleetwood Mann, Sr. She was the gracious, deeply loved and respected matriarch of her family. Her home was warm and welcoming to all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Mrs. Mann was a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church and The Long Canites Senior Group. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lasco Allsep; sister, Grace Hedden; grandson, James Robert Hedden; and a grand-daughter, Heather Lynn Hall. Mrs. Mann is survived by her eleven children, Ted Hedden (Joyce), Robert Hedden (Ruby), Jerry Hedden (Charlene), Roger Hedden (Rebecca), Mike Hedden, all of Abbeville, and Tony Hedden, of Greenwood, Joyce Rhodes (John), Sue Weeks (Carl), and Frances Rhodes (Frankie), all of Greenwood, Karen Burton of Calhoun Falls, and Debbie Boggs (Norman) of Anderson; her sister, Opal Hedden of Highlands, NC; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren. She was cared for by special caregivers, Gina Webb, Sharon Fields, Diane Zawacki and Mary Hedden. The family will receive friends 1:30pm – 3:00pm, Friday, February 26, 2016 in Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will begin at 3:30pm in the church sanctuary with Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home.
