Henry Broadus Collins

November 23, 1922 — March 11, 2013

Henry Broadus Collins, 90, husband of Ivadell Talbert Collins, of Bradley died Monday, March 11, 2013 at his home. He was born in McCormick to the late D.H. and Francis Dorn Collins. Mr. Collins served his country as a member of the United States Navy during WWII. He retired from Monsanto with many years of service. Mr. Collins was a member of Troy United Methodist Church and the Caldwell Masonic Lodge #83. He will be remembered as an avid gardener and a loving family man and friend to all. In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Collins; a brother, Hoyt Collins; and a sister, Margie Timmerman. He is survived by his wife of 60 years of the home; two sons, Tim Collins, and his wife, Donna, of Evans, GA and Arthur Collins of Aiken, SC; two daughters, Benita Wade, and her husband, Brian, of Warrenville, SC and Melissa Mack and her husband, Quinn, of Greenwood; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a special family friend, Shirley Turner. Funeral services will be 11:00A.M. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Troy United Methodist Church with Dr. Keith Polk and Mr. George Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Overbrook Cemetery in McCormick. The family will receive friends after the burial in the fellowship hall of the church.
