Henry Jay Petersheim

Henry Jay Petersheim, 75, husband of Marie Hochstetler Petersheim, of Abbeville, SC died Friday, July 6, 2018 at his home. He was born in Meyersdale, PA to the late Jonas and Lydia Zook Petersheim.

Mr. Petersheim was a member of Cold Spring Mennonite Church. His accomplished photography was featured in neighborhood pictures and in the production of the church newsletter. In former years, he and his wife served on the mission field in various locations. Currently employed with Stoll Industries as a welder, he was a master craftsman who designed and created decorative wrought iron railings. Much happy time was spent in vegetable gardening resulting in abundant harvests. In addition, his talent and ability in growing banana trees was well known.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma and Mildred.

Mr. Petersheim is survived by his wife of 47 years of the home; two sons, Ivan Petersheim (Marcia), of Abbeville and Mark Petersheim (Mary), of Dryden, Ontario, Canada; three daughters, Kristina Beachy (Dwayne), of Fincastle, VA, Brenda Stoltzfoos (Dwight) of Kinzers, PA and Melody Bender (Javan) of Abbeville; a brother, Noah Petersheim (Viola), of Warrenton, VA; two sisters, Edna Swartzentruber, of Union Grove, NC and Annie Fisher of Salisbury, PA; and twenty-one grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Cold Spring Mennonite Church.  Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, July 9, 2018 at Cold Spring Mennonite Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
