Ida Mae Mast Graber, 87, of Abbeville, SC, wife of the late Lavern Graber, died Thursday April 15, 2021 at her home; her family was with her. She was born in East Fairfield, PA to the late Joseph A. and Ida Christner Mast.
Mrs. Graber enjoyed the outdoors, spending much of her time in the garden and keeping her yard in pristine condition. Her other hobbies included painting, along with wallpapering. She and her husband, Lavern, founded, owned, and operated the Dutch Oven restaurant, a staple of the Abbeville community. Mrs. Graber was a member of Whispering Pines Mennonite Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Graber Nisly; a brother Olin Mast; and sister Ruby Miller.
Mrs. Graber is survived by her son Gary Graber (Debbie), of Athena, OR; a daughter, Sandra Hershberger (Wesley), of Abbeville; a son-in-law, Jason Nisly, of Greeley, CO; five brothers, Joseph Mast (Betty), Walter Mast (Betty), Jerome Mast (Julia), Paul Mast, and Ernie Mast (Helen); four sisters Esther Overholt, Mary Ellen Overholt (Lewis), Viola Overholt (Victor), and Elsie Overholt (Rudy); her grandchildren, Wendell Hershberger (Rose), Heather Horst (Myron), Sherilyn Kemp (Lyle), Gordon Hershberger (Dionne), Hannah Hershberger, Rebekah Hershberger, Abigail Hershberger, Grant Nisly (Julia), Alyssa Hopkins (Daniel), Mandy Burkey (Hans), Joel Graber (Joanne), Jonathan Graber (Breanna), and Michael Graber; and twenty great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 5:30PM – 7:00PM, Sunday, April 18, 2021 in Whispering Pines Mennonite Church, 7085 Highway 20, Honea Path, SC 29654. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Monday, April 19, 2021 in the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
