Irene M. Crocker

Irene McCarley Crocker, 95, of Abbeville, wife of the late Curtis Crocker, died Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Abbeville Nursing Home. She was born in Iva to the late Robert Prue McCarley and Marie Catherine Burton McCarley.

Mrs. Crocker was a 1945 graduate of Lowndesville High School. She retired from Abbeville Shirtmakers after 27 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Crocker enjoyed reading her Bible, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends.  She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma M. Fleming and three brothers: Beauford, Boyd, and Robert McCarley.

Mrs. Crocker is survived by her two sons, Darrell and Tony Crocker (Robin) all of Abbeville. She was greatly blessed with seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to the physicians, nurses, and staff of Abbeville Nursing Home – Wing One for the great care and compassion shown to their family over the last few years.

A service to celebrate Mrs. Crocker’s life will be 5:00 PM Monday, October 23, 2023, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Richard Ashley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to be sent to Agape Care Hospice, 326 Montague Ave., #200, Greenwood, SC 29649.
