Jack Timothy "Tim" Newell

Jack Timothy 'Tim' Newell, 56, of Abbeville, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Abbeville to Jack T. and Frieda Shields Newell. Mr. Newell was a 1976 graduate of Westside Christian School and a member of South Side Baptist Church. He worked at H&H Machining as a welder and was a skilled mechanic. Tim was an avid sportsman and beloved friend. He was preceded in death by a brother, Brian A. Newell and a nephew Drew Newell. Surviving Tim are his parents of the home; a son, J.T Newell of Abbeville; a sister, Teresa Newell McClain and her husband Josh of Abbeville and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 7:30PM on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Earl Hartley, Rev. Jonathan Shelor and Dr. Chris Ceraldi officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home on Ferry Street.
