James F. Ashley

James F. Ashley, 84, of the Level Land Community, husband of the late Annie Clamp Ashley, died Friday, November 7, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Anderson County to the late Jason J. and Addie McClain Ashley. Mr. Ashley retired from Rocky River Mill and was a member of Little River Baptist Church. He was a devoted member of the Dew Drop Masonic Lodge 266. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jason "Bug" Ashley, Jr. and a sister, Gerri A. Beauford. Mr. Ashley is survived by his two sons, Ronnie Ashley and his wife Vicki and Donnie Ashley and his wife Ree Ree; a sister, Caroline A. Ellis and her husband Bill; four grandchildren, Deanna Moore, Jason Ashley, Ronda Nance, and Bryce Ashley, and three great-grandchildren all of Abbeville. The family will receive friends from 5:30PM to 7:30PM Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Harris Funeral Home. Graveside services with Masonic Rites will be 3:00PM Sunday, November 9, 2008 in the Little River Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Frank McClain officiating. The family is at the residence. Memorial contributions, in memory of Mr. Ashley, may be sent to the Hospice House of the HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
