James Henry Carlisle, II

James Henry Carlisle, II, 70, of Calhoun Falls, died Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC. He was born in Abbeville to the late Harold Lander Carlisle, Jr and Frances Wideman Carlisle.

Henry was the former owner and CEO of Carlisle Trucking and a graduate of Piedmont Technical College. He was a man who never met a stranger, greeting everyone with a smile. Henry had a gift for telling jokes that brought joy and laughter to those around him. He was a devoted Clemson Tiger fan, always cheering passionately for his team. Henry also found happiness in the great outdoors, often pursuing his passion for golfing and fishing. He attended Northside Baptist Church in Calhoun Falls and Greenwood.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold L. Carlisle, III, Jacky Timms, Frank A. Carlisle, Sr. and Sammy Timms.

He is survived by his two daughters, Tara (Andrew) Simmons of Hodges and Sharon Harbin of Anderson; two sisters, Sonya (Don) Rhodes of Greenwood and Rebekah (Scott) Conant of Fort Mill, SC; a brother, Otis Carlisle of Easley, SC; two grandchildren who lovingly called him ‘Papa’, Abi Simmons and Ryleigh Harbin; his former wife and friend, Teresa Carlisle of Greenwood; and special friends, Allen and Cheryl Patterson of Calhoun Falls.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:00PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home, Calhoun Falls Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jamie Parler officiating. Burial will follow in Latimer Cemetery.
