James L. 'Buck' Loner, 72, of the Level Land Community, husband of Frances Ware Loner, died peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Abbeville County to the late Henry Milton Loner and Julia Mae Wells Loner. Mr. Loner was a former employee of the Rocky River Mills Textile Plant where he worked for 26 years and was a dedicated member of Little River Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly Loner; three brothers, Claude, Jerry & Lamott Loner; a sister, Julia Ann Loner; and a step-granddaughter, Pamela Davis. Mr. Loner is survived by his wife of 53 years of the home; a son, James Randy Loner of the Level Land Community; a daughter, Charlene Parnell and her husband Steve of the Level Land Community; a sister, Bertie Mae Hagen and her husband R.A. of Abbeville; two grandchildren, Crystal Vaughn and her husband Tracy and Amy Granger and her husband Shane; three great-grandchildren, Kattie Granger, Kelsey Granger and Courtney Howell. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Little River Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home.
