SFC James Frank "POP" Wilson, N.G. Ret., 76, of the Watts community, husband of the late Jean "Tootsie" Wilson, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Abbeville to the late James F. and Eleanor Wallace Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from the National Guard. "Pop", as he was most affectionately called, retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Abbeville Branch. He was a 50 year member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge #3, where he was a Past Worshipful Master, and a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Ruth Wilson. Surviving Mr. Wilson is a daughter, Jean Wilson Overholt of Abbeville; four sons, James Allen "Cotton" Wilson and his wife Sherrie of Saluda, John Frank Wilson and his wife Jackie, Thomas Grier Wilson and his wife Lucy, and William Cole Wilson and his wife Amy all of Abbeville; a sister, Juanita Finley and her husband Jimmy of Abbeville; seventeen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, October 3, 2008 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Warrenton Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Ed Kirkpatrick. Burial, with full Masonic Rites and full military honors, will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cole Wilson, 1874 Hwy 28N, Abbeville, SC 29620.
