Janie L. Taylor

Janie L. Taylor, 75, of Abbeville, died Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Abbeville Area Medical Center.  She was born in Abbeville County and lovingly reared in the home of the late Haskell Dewey Taylor and Leona Couch Brown Taylor.

Ms. Taylor was employed with the Hess Corporation and retired after many years of service.  After retirement, she enjoyed working at the Rough House in Abbeville.  Her time there brought pleasure to her and those she encountered each day.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Ansel Brown and a sister, Mildred Taylor McCord Smith.

Ms. Taylor is survived by her two daughters, Rhonda Bryant of Iva and Donna Gibson (Brian) of Honea Path; four grandchildren, Keisha, Holly, Shawn and Megan; four great-grandchildren, Kae-nisha, Kai-shaun, Nicholas and Alley; one great-great-grandson, Paxton; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 24, 2018, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel.  Funeral services will begin at 2:30pm in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, in memory of Ms. Taylor, may be sent to the Abbeville Veteran’s Memorial Foundation, 200 Long Branch Street, Abbeville, SC 29620.
