Jean "Bean Calvert" Davenport

Jean ‘Bean’ Calvert Davenport 63, of Iva, wife of Ray Davenport, Sr., died Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.  She was born in Abbeville to the late William ‘Bill’ and Margaret Richey Calvert.

Affectionately known as Bean, she graduated from Abbeville High School, Class of 1975.  Bean was a homemaker and member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple of Starr, SC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Calvert.

Bean is survived by her husband, Ray, of 32 years; three sons, Mitch (Stephanie) Ware of Iva, Ray Davenport, Jr. of Elberton, GA and Mike (Nicole) Davenport of Abbeville; a very special granddaughter reared in the home, Kyla Davenport; and four grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye, Ava Ware, Gavin Davenport, Hunter and Kase Davenport.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Dr. Chris Oxendine and the nurses and staff of the Rainey Hospice House for their loving care.

The family will be at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mitch and Stephanie Ware, 42 Ware Road, Iva, SC 29655.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Thursday, October 29, 2020 at her son and daughter-in-law’s residence.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 30, 2020 in the Harris Funeral Home Chapel.  Due to the government mandated, COVID-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing are encouraged at all times.
