Jesse L. Reese, 83, of 503 Calhoun St. McCormick, husband of Martha "Polly" Reese, died Sunday, November 21, 2005 at Providence Hospital in Columbia. He was born in McCormick to the late James Morgan and Rosalind Cartledge Reese. Mr. Reese was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and great a?" grandfather, and a hard worker; he retired from Cox Furniture Store after 22 years, retired from the McCormick Feed and Seed, and he retired from the Town of McCormick where he served in various positions. Mr. Reese was an active member of the McCormick First Baptist Church where he served as a Past Deacon. He also was a Past Master with the Parksville Masonic Lodge #199. His three brothers, John, William, and Charles Reese and a sister, Lillian Bussey, preceded Mr. Reese in death. Surviving Mr. Reese is his wife of 58 years of the home, four sons, Richard M. Reese and his wife Beth of Anderson, Larry Reese and his wife Vicki of Ninety-Six, Don Reese and his wife Kathy of Abbeville, and Bill Reese and his wife Carolyn of Lexington, two sisters, Rose Talbert and Margie Bussey both of McCormick, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the 4th Floor MCCU Unit at Providence Hospital in Columbia for their support, love and care that they provided to the family. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 7:00PM (TODAY) at the McCormick First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Wednesday, November 23, 2005 in the McCormick First Baptist Church 108 Oak St. Burial will follow in Overbrook Cemetery. The family is at the residence. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
