Jimmy A. Phillips, 75, of Abbeville, husband of the late Betty Phillips, died Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. He was born in Anderson, SC to the late James Pruitt and Mary Elizabeth Parnell Phillips. Jimmy was a 1959 graduate of Calhoun Falls High School. He retired from the Rocky River Plant with over 25 years of service and was employed with the Abbeville County Recycling Centers. Jimmy was a member of Lowndesville Baptist Church and faithfully attended Abbeville First Baptist Church. He was a life-time member of Hiram Lodge #68 in Anderson. His cheerful personality was evident in his interaction with people and was easily exhibited is his square dancing talents. Jimmy is survived by his son Al Phillips and his wife, Mary of Destin, FL; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Phillips Taylor and her husband, Jared and James Phillips; mother-in-law, Bertha Weaver of Abbeville; special sister-in-law, Elaine Nixon of Abbeville and brother-in-law, Paul Payne, Jr. of N. Augusta, SC. Graveside Services will be 2:00PM, Thursday, October 27, 2016, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Dr. John Keith and Rev. Wayne Wiggins officiating.
