Jo Ann McNeill Botts

Jo Ann McNeill Botts, 87, of Abbeville, SC, wife of the late Alvin Botts, died Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Pruitt Health in Blythewood, SC. She was born in Abbeville to the late Robert N. McNeill and Helen Hall McNeill.

A graduate of Abbeville High School, Jo Ann was employed with several notable companies throughout her life including the Rug Barn, Abbeville Shirt Plant and Burlington Industries. After retiring, she found happiness in her home and garden. Jo Ann enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her garden and flowers, bird watching and spending time with family. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Stone; three brothers, Harold McNeill, Robert McNeill and Dewitt McNeill; and sister, Libby Kimsey.

She is survived by her brother, Paul McNeill of Abbeville; two daughters, Robbie (Jim) Eldridge and Elaine (Allen) Player, all of Blythewood, SC; three grandchildren, Christy Young, Candy (Bill) Sharpe and Matthew Stone; and five great-grandchildren, Cody, Gavin, Hayden, Thomas and Joshua.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:00PM, Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Long officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
