Joe Franklin Ferguson

Mr. Joe Franklin Ferguson, 83, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with his son, Michael, by his side. Joe was born February 12, 1941 in Due West, SC, the only child of Joe and Helen Perry Ferguson.

Joe was a graduate of Abbeville High School where he played right tackle and met his future wife of 58 years, Anne. Joe graduated from Erskine College earning a degree in Industrial Engineering and went on to have a successful career in the textile industry, initially locating in Erwin, NC.

The Ferguson family relocated to the Gastonia, NC in 1971, where they thrived in a community of friendship and fellowship enhanced by their membership to the Parkwood Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Anne Coleman Ferguson. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathleen Ferguson of Los Angeles, CA; and grandchildren Cole and Mari Ferguson.

 Graveside services will be held during a small family ceremony 2:00pm, Sunday, February 16, 2025 in Long Cane Cemetery in Abbeville, SC.
