John C. Kuech, 89, of Savannah Lakes, husband of Patricia Morgan Kuech, died Thursday, June 15, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Patchogue, NY to the late John Henry and Thelma Rittenhouse Kuech.
John honorably served in the United States Air Force, Air Police, during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he moved to Rochester, NY where he met and married Rosalie Roe in 1958. They were blessed with three cherished children. John often expressed his fortune for the years he spent employed as a youth leader for the City of Rochester Recreation Department, affording him the opportunity to help in the development of some outstanding young men and women, including his own three children.
Following his retirement in 1987, Rosalie died after courageously fighting cancer. He subsequently lived in Colorado for two years and then moved to Ocala, FL in 1993 where he met his second wife, Pat. They were married in 1994. John and Pat became active in numerous ministries in the St. Jude Catholic community. In 2001, he was commissioned as a Pastoral Minister in the Diocese of Orlando.
Relocating to Savannah Lakes in 2006, John and Pat continued their service to the Lord in ministry at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Additionally, he was active in a number of community activities. John wished to be remembered for his love of the Lord, his family and his friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Pat; children, Chris (Deni) Kuech, Karen Sheridan and Sandie Ville; siblings, Curtis (Sheila) Everett, Joan Bobier Kuech, Robert (Janet) Kuech and Cindy (Wally) Woschnik; and grandchildren, Jeremy Ville, Hannah and Danny Sheridan and Rachel and Jessie Vachon.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, June 24, 2023, in Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1401 Greenwood Highway, McCormick, SC 29835 with Rev. Father Jacob Joseph officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church Columbarium.
