John William 'Bill' Reese

John William ‘Bill’ Reese, 64, of McCormick, SC, died Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Prisma Health Columbia.  He was born in McCormick to Martha 'Polly' Ashmore Reese and the late Jesse Lamar Reese.

A graduate of Wardlaw Academy, Bill was a standout in football and was inducted into the Wardlaw Hall of Fame. He spent his career serving as a Wildlife Officer for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Bill was a member of McCormick First Baptist Church and was also a past member of the Parksville Masonic Lodge #199. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed umpiring little league baseball and spending time with his English Bulldogs.

Bill is survived by his mother, Martha 'Polly' Ashmore Reese; three brothers, Dicky Reese (Beth) of Anderson, Larry Reese, (Vicki) of Columbia and Don Reese (Kathy) of Abbeville; nieces and nephews, Lamar Reese, Richie Reese, Emily Watts, Angie Stone and Joni Wilson.

Graveside service will be in Overbrook Cemetery, Cavalier Drive, McCormick, SC at 11:00AM, Friday, September 29, 2023.   

The family is at their respective homes.
