Judy Long Ware, 70, of Abbeville, wife of the late Mack Ware, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. She was born in Anderson, SC to the late Theron and Maggie Fisher Long. Mrs. Ware was a 1961 graduate of Dixie High School. She was a faithful and active member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church where she was a former Deacon, Elder, Presbyterian Women Coordinator, Sunday School Teacher and Church Historian. Mrs. Ware was lovingly devoted to her family and her church. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jean Hagan Ware and a sister, Nancy Whitman. Surviving Mrs. Ware are her two children, Danny Ware of Due West and Cheryl W. Shirley and her husband Chris of Greenwood; a brother, Johnny Long and his wife Terri of Greenville; six grandchildren, Heather Edwards (Sam), Ashleigh Shirley, Katie Shirley, Austin Ware, Christopher Shirley and Kathryn Ware; one great-grandson, Alex Shirley and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in the Little Mountain Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Christopher Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of Danny Ware in Due West.
