Julius Eakin Cochran, Jr., 84, of Abbeville, husband of Rucella Ray Cochran, died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Hospice House in Greenwood surrounded by his family. He was born in Abbeville County to the late Julius E. and Eva McNeil Cochran, Sr. Mr. Cochran was a life long member of Warrenton Presbyterian Church where he had served as a Deacon, Elder and Sunday School Teacher. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Cochran worked for Little River Electric Co-op for 18 years and retired from the McCormick CPW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Grace C. Ashmore. He is survived by his wife of 60 years of the home; a son, Julius E. "Bud" Cochran, III and his wife Kathy of Abbeville; three daughters, Linda C. Stickles and her husband Van of Elloree, SC, Sandy C. Milford and her husband Sam of Abbeville, and Judy C. James of Piedmont, SC; nine grandchildren, Amy Roland and her husband John, Sharie Quattlebaum and her husband Bart, Pete Stickles and his wife Jessica, Craig Milford and his wife Julie, Madeline Milford, Andrew Milford, Dexter Cochran, Jacob Cochran, and Nolan Cochran; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 3:00PM Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the Warrenton Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. B.E. Pettit. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
