Klaus Hans Ludwig, 87, of the Savannah Lakes Community, husband of Elizabeth Gibson Ludwig, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Augusta University Medical Center. He was born in Schoneau, Germany to the late Hans and Gertrude Tietz Ludwig.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ludwig was employed with BMW in Germany before retiring from GM in Detroit, MI after serving for 30 years as a tool and die maker. Following retirement, he and his wife relocated to the Savannah Lakes Community where they have lived for 24 years. Mr. Ludwig found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer, finding peace on the green fairways. Additionally, he had a deep appreciation for soccer and on quiet days, one could find him happily tending his yard, finding peace in the beauty of nature.
Mr. Ludwig is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth, of the home; two sons, Mike Ludwig (Amy) and Peter Ludwig (Rhonda), all of Michigan; sister, Renatte Zeller; four grandchildren, Kayla, Brendan, Nicolas and Megan; three great-grandchildren, Lucian, Cass and Rio; and three nephews, Hubert, Rudi and Manfred.
There are no services planned at this time.
