Kristine Adden

Kristine Adden, 73, of Savannah Lakes Village, wife of Steve Adden, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, October 11. She was born in Peoria, IL to the late Theodore L. and Mary Henney Oberle.

A 1972 graduate of Western Illinois University, Mrs. Adden was a proud member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. A member of the Rockford Illinois Teachers Union, she taught school for many years. In 1999, she and her husband relocated to the Savannah Lakes Village in McCormick, SC. For the past 25 years, Mrs. Adden has been highly active in her community. She was former President of the Women’s Golf Association and member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where she participated in the church choir and was responsible for all the flowers at the church.

Mrs. Adden is survived by her husband of 52 years, Steve, of the home; two daughters, Jamie Hand (Patrick) of Little Rock, AR and Nicole Adden of Apex, NC; two brothers, Tim Oberle of Duncan, SC and Larry Oberle of Terre Haute, IN; three sisters, Susan Selis of Kent, WA, Joan Caldwell of Duvall, WA, and Elizabeth Galanti of Buffalo, NY; and three grandchildren, Blake, Molly and Reagan Hand.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 20, 2023, with Father Jacob Joseph officiating at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1401 Greenwood Highway, McCormick SC 29835. A reception will follow in the Good Shepherd Life Center immediately following the service.
