Norman Lamar Q’Quinn, 74, of Due West, husband of Evelyn Jones O’Quinn, died Monday, October 14, 2024, at his home. He was born in Abbeville County to the late Norman D. and Fleda Alewine O’Quinn,

Lamar, a 1968 graduate of Dixie High School, honorably served his country in the United States Army. Following his active service, he continued to demonstrate his commitment to his country by retiring from the South Carolina National Guard. During his military career, Lamar received various medals of distinction. In 1976, he began his career with Milliken & Co, Abbeville Plant, retiring in 2014 with 38 years of dedicated service in the plant engineering department. Lamar was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church. His legacy of love for his family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry W. O’Quinn.

Lamar is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn, of the home; his children, Karen Boyd, Amy Spires (Shane), Russell O’Quinn (Amy) and Chris O’Quinn (Jordan); eleven grandchildren, Tyler Boyd, Adi O’Quinn, Shaney S. Young (Brant), Clary Spires, Danni Spires, Jackson Dunn, Sydney O’Quinn, Landon O’Quinn, Ryker O’Quinn, Wesley O’Quinn, and Harbin O’Quinn; a great-granddaughter, Bankes Young; and sister-in-law, Jenny Jones Q’Quinn.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:00PM, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Lebanon Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. John Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.
