Larry J. Cato, 67, of Abbeville, husband of Jean Baggett Cato, died peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. He was born in Thomaston, GA to the late Henry G. Cato and Mary Belle Moore Parker. Mr. Cato was a loyal patriot, having served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from CSX Railroad after 36 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Real Life Ministries in Greenwood and enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the Bikers for Christ. Surviving Mr. Cato is his wife of 35 years of the home; a son, Jerry B. Baggett of Grayson, GA; a brother, Ronnie Edward Cato of Thomaston, GA; two aunts, Shirley Parrish of Thomaston, GA and Ruth Milton and her husband Frank of Sharpsburg, GA; an uncle, Sonny Moore and his wife Linda of Thomaston, GA; and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Monday, August 16, 2010 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Catoe and the Rev. Wendell Rhodes officiating.
