Larry Thomas Pruitt, 74, of Honea Path, husband of Erline McLawhorn Pruitt, died Thursday September 26, 2024, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood. He was born in Anderson to the late Edgar Ludie Pruitt and Rachel Christine Bawkum Pruitt.
Larry obtained his GED in 1971, while proudly serving his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he began a career at Michelin, where he worked as a CID relief operator, retiring with over 33 years of dedicated service. You could always find him tinkering with old cars, working in his yard, or fishing. He was a member of the Jones Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Jane Crocker.
Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Erline; two daughters, Sheila (Mike) Davis, and Heather Lynn Pruitt, all of Honea Path; brother, Darryl Mark (Rita) Pruitt of Belton; sister, Earline Lindley of Abbeville; and best friend, Jerry Jones of Belton.
The family will receive friends 3:00PM – 4:00PM, Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Jones Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. A service to celebrate Larry’s life, with military honors, will begin at 4:00PM in the church sanctuary with Pastor Brent McMasters and Pastor Keith Crocker officiating.
