Laura Yeargin Stone, 91, of Abbeville, wife of the late James Marvin Stone, died Monday, September 14, 2015 at her home. She was born in Elberton, GA to the late Snow and Eva Hall Yeargin. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by two sons, Randall and Basil Stone, a daughter, Conne Lee Stone, four brothers, Newt, George, David, and Junior Yeargin; and six sisters, Mosell Wilson, Rydell Evans, Bell Balchin, Pauline Sword, Corrine Smith, and Flora Bradford. Mrs. Stone was a member of the Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She worked at the Rocky River Plant and the Abbeville Area Medical Center. Mrs. Stone found pleasure in cooking and also enjoyed food at Cherokee Trail and Lynn's Café. She is survived by two sons, Barry Stone and his wife Jeri and Kyle Stone and his wife Lisa, all of Abbeville; a daughter, Diane Patterson of Abbeville, a sister, Betty Howard of Texas; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Stone of Abbeville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm – 8:00pm Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in Harris Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 1:00PM, Thursday, September 17, 2015 in Harris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Beauford and Rev. Benny Dyar officiating.
