Lotte Ibell

Lieselotte Ibell, 92, of Abbeville, SC wife of the late Walter Joseph Ibell, Jr., died September 22. She was born in Landsberg Am Lech, Germany to the late Wilhelm and Maria Forstner Schmitt. 

Mrs. Ibell was a graduate of Pinellas Vocational Technical School. She retired from Abbeville Area Medical Center in 1995 after 15 dedicated years. Lotte was a member of the Abbeville Presbyterian Church and the Retired Nurses of Abbeville. 

In addition to her parents and husband of 45 years, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Maria Schmitt and Berta Schmitt.

Mrs. Ibell is survived by her son, William John Ibell (Jill) of Newport Richey, FL; two daughters, Roswitha Maria Timbrell (John D.) of Pennsylvania and Carol Ibell Osterfoss of Greer, SC; a nephew, Juergen Schmitt (Juergen Langenohl); five grandchildren, Wyatt Ibell, Westley Ibell, Nicholas Osterfoss, Trevor Hogan (Taylor), and Christopher Osterfoss; and two great-grandchildren Sydney Neala Hogan and Sawyer Maeve Hogan. 

A service to celebrate Lotte’s life will be at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel, Friday, November 15, 2024, at 3:00 with the Rev. Dr. Robert Todd officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
