Lillie Minor Clamp, 82, formerly of Abbeville, SC, wife of the late James N. Clamp, Sr., died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the McCormick Rehab and Healthcare Center. She was born in Abbeville to the late John and Pearl Lankfurt Minor.
As well as Mrs. Clamp’s tireless career as a homemaker, she assisted with the bookkeeping at the family business, Clamp’s Texaco. Her hobbies included collecting knickknacks and decorating her home at Christmas with the Dickens’ Village.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mike Ashley.
Mrs. Clamp is survived by her son, Jimmy Clamp (Lisa), of Elizabeth City, NC; four daughters, Jamie Adaskas (Gary Sullivan), of Virginia Beach, VA, Sherry McMahan, Tracy Edens (John), all of Abbeville, and Judy Morgan (Ernie) of Anderson; two brothers, Pete Minor (Katie), of Rock Hill and J.L. Minor of Belton; a sister, Sadie Brooks, of Virginia Beach; as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 4:00PM, Thursday, July 5, 2018 in the Harris Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Clamp, may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
