Linda 'LaLa' Jeanne Lane Arnold

Linda Jeanne Lane Arnold, affectionately known as ‘LaLa’, 79, of Abbeville, wife of Larry E. Arnold, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Emerald Gardens Assisted Living & Memory Care in Greenwood. She was born in Nashville, TN to the late Edwin Green ‘Ted’ Lane, Jr. and Jeanne Louise Hogan Lane.

LaLa was a 1966 graduate of the University of Georgia. Following college, she joined Delta-Kappa Gamma, a professional educator’s sorority. Throughout her career, LaLa dedicated 28 years as a teacher within the Abbeville County School District before retiring. She was a respected member and Elder of the Abbeville Presbyterian Church, where she diligently served as clerk of session for an extended period. LaLa had a deep-seated passion for the Georgia Bulldogs and cherished moments spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin ‘Ed’ Green Lane, III and a son-in-law, Joey Hornsby

LaLa is survived by her husband of 57 years, Larry; two daughters: Aimee Arnold Hornsby (Daryl Brantner) of Greenville and Andrea Arnold Dawson (Stacey) of Abbeville; her sister, Weesie Walker (Randy) of LaGrange, GA; as well as, five beloved grandchildren, Sydney and Zach Dawson, Claire Hornsby, Ashley and Ethan Brantner.

A celebration of LaLa’s life will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Abbeville Presbyterian Church, 301 North Main Street, Abbeville, SC 29620 with Rev. Stan Colbert officiating. The family will greet family and friends following the service in the Telford Parlor.

The family is at their respective homes. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in memory of LaLa, can be made to the Abbeville Presbyterian Church, 301 North Main St. Abbeville, SC 29620 or Agape Hospice Care of Greenwood, 326 Montague Ave. Greenwood, SC 29649 or a charity of one's choice.
