Calhoun Falls, SC - Lorrie Moss Tyson, was called home to our Lord on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021 surrounded by love ones. She was born on May 12, 1966 to Rev. Tommy and Joyce Moss of Aiken, SC. Sister Tyson, to all who knew her, was a caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband John G Tyson, her daughter Cara Grace Hyman (Brice) of Aiken, SC, her mother Joyce Moss of Aiken, SC and her sisters Dana “Shelly” Henion (Tim) of Lyman, SC, Jennifer Druelle of Aiken, SC, and Tessa Morgan (Rev. Deryk) of Georgetown, SC, along with several nieces, nephews, a great-nephew, two great-nieces, and dear friends Tanji Black and Rick Boulware of Union, SC.
Lorrie was born in Kings Mountain, NC. She was the 2nd oldest of four Moss sisters. Lorrie was well known for her musical abilities.
Lorrie met John G. Tyson while they were attending Bible College. The young couple spent much of their courtship attending college and church activities together. The two of them often provided special music whenever asked.
John and Lorrie were married in 1986 and embarked on a life of ministry together.
Lorrie proved through the years to be a true anchor and helpmate to John in his life’s calling. She delighted in supporting John and their daughter Cara Grace and took great pleasure in watching them both blossom and succeed in life.
Lorrie had a calm grace and quiet confidence that astounded everyone who knew her. It was the presence of someone you just knew, spent a lot of time with the Lord. John and Lorrie were a team. For over 35 years, they have taken every challenge as an opportunity and touched lives everywhere they have ministered.
So, reflect with us as we remember Lorrie Moss Tyson and what she meant to so many people. Rejoice with us as we try to conceive of her joy when she met her Lord face to face. Pledge with us to live your life in such a way that you will one day see her again in heaven and share in the riches our Lord has in store for all His Faithful Servants.
The Tyson family would like to thank Agape Care Hospice, Abbeville Area Medical Center, all the wonderful teams of physicians, nurses and staff who cared for Lorrie. The family would also like to thank Calhoun Falls Church of God for their loving support, kindness, and care for their first lady.
