Luevenia Williams "Lou" Davis

Luevenia Williams 'Lou' Davis, 95, of Abbeville died Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Abbeville Nursing Home. She was born in Abbeville to the late John D. and Ossie Wilson Williams. Mrs. Davis was twice married, first to the late S.J. Minor, then to the late George Floyd Davis. She retired from Abbeville Manufacturing and was an active member of Westside Baptist Church until her health declined. Mrs. Davis was a loving mother and grandmother and always had an extra plate at her table for anyone that came by. In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by sons, Samuel H. Minor and Franklin D. Minor; infant son, Eugene Minor; four brothers and five sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Madeline D. Brabham, of Greenwood; two sons, W.F. 'Bill' Davis, and his wife, Barbara, and Jimmy Davis and his wife, Pat, all of Abbeville; two daughters-in-law, Donna Jean Minor, of Anderson and Margaret Minor of Cartledge, NC; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and her constant companion of 14 years, her beloved cat, Tom. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 3:30PM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bill Ellison officiating. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Davis, may be sent to South Side Baptist Church, 505 W. Greenwood St., Abbeville, SC 29620 or Westside Baptist Church, 306 Haigler St., Abbeville, SC 29620. A special thanks to the staff at Abbeville Nursing Home for the love and care that was given to our mother. The family will be at the Davis residence, 208 Magazine St., Abbeville.
