Mack M. Ellis

Mack M. Ellis, 85, of Abbeville, died Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont. He was born in Abbeville County to the late James Douglas and Mildred Saxon Ellis.

Mack attended Abbeville High School and retired from CSX Railroad after many dedicated years. He was a devoted member of Abbeville Congregational Holiness Church, as well as the UTU Railroad Union.

In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, Benson, and Tony Ellis.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim Renker (David) of Zephyrhills, FL; granddaughter, Heather Campbell (Joey) and great-granddaughter, Sally Campbell all of Ridge Manor, FL; a brother, Rayford Ellis (Dianna) of Abbeville, SC; and four sisters, Carolyn Ricketts (Kenneth) of Due West, SC, Marilyn Chapman (Roger) of Anderson, SC, Sarah Burriss of Chicago, and Tracie Ellis of Chicago.

The family will receive friends from 11:00AM to 12:30PM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Abbeville Congregational Holiness Church. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM in the church sanctuary on Saturday with Rev. Tim Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
