Mageleen Weaver "Maggie" Simpson

Mageleen 'Maggie' Weaver Simpson, 73, of Abbeville, wife of Dr. Rayford "Ray" A. Simpson, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC. She was born in McCormick, SC to the late William M. & Mary Brewer Horton. Mrs. Simpson retired from the Liberty Life Corporation and from Horton Dentist office in Abbeville. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was attending South Side Baptist Church. Mrs. Simpson was a member of the Sun Lighters Senior Group at South Side. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Thomas Weaver, Sr.; a twin sister, Kathleen H. Mabry. Surviving Mrs. Simpson is her husband of the home; three daughters, Pam Hall (Doug) of Greenville, SC, Cindy Nickles (John) of Due West, SC and Janet DeShields (Harold) of Greenville, SC; two sons, John Weaver, Jr. of Greenville, SC and Mark Weaver (D'Anne) of Simpsonville, SC; four brothers, Bill Horton of Calhoun Falls, SC, Manley Horton of Abbeville, Bobby Horton of Hodges and David Horton of Abbeville; twenty-five grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, April 18, 2011 at South Side Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 4:00PM Monday at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home on Greenville Street in Abbeville. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Simpson, may be sent to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 811 W. Evergreen Ave., Suite 303, Chicago, IL 60642 OR to a charity of one's choice.
