Mary Norman Bowie, 85, of Abbeville, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. Mrs. Bowie was born in Wilkes County, GA to the late James and Elizabeth Andrews Scott. She was twice married; first to the late Roy W. Norman, then to the late Thrashley Bowie. Mrs. Bowie was a member of the former Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. Bowie are her two sons, Logan Norman and his wife Sandra and Stan Norman and his wife Sue all of Abbeville; a daughter, Connie Smith and her husband Pete of Rock Hill, SC; three sisters, Sara Langley of Abbeville, Ruby Hughes of Greenwood and Nelda Fain of Elberton County, GA; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM to 12:00PM Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 12:30PM in Melrose Cemetery with the Rev. James Bannister officiating. The family is at the home of Stan and Sue Norman at 300 Miller Street in Abbeville. Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Bowie, may be sent to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
