Mary Ann Mobley Hill, 79, widow of Henry Hill, Jr., passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, at the Abbeville Nursing Home following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born February 19, 1943, in Abbeville County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Carroll Mobley and Ethel Lee Hutchinson Mobley.
Mary was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church in Due West. She worked in the local textile industry for many years until she opened Tropical Isle Tanning in Donalds, which she enjoyed operating until her retirement. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who were blessed to know her.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lillie Stamey; three brothers, Eddie Mobley, Robert Mobley, and Charlie Mobley; and two step-sons, Dale Hill and Ricky Hill, whom she loved and raised as her own.
Mary is survived by her sister, Louise Black of Anderson; two daughters, Wanda Stone (Glen) of Honea Path and Brenda Vaughn (Ronnie) of Donalds; three sons, Ken Hill (Cindy) of Abbeville, Mike Hill of Easley, and Robbie Hill (Tisha) of Donalds; a daughter-in-law, Allie Hill; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Thursday, January 12, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church in Due West. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church cemetery.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Abbeville Nursing Home, who lovingly cared for Mary for more than five years.
The family is at the home of Glen and Wanda Stone in Honea Path.
