Mary Ella Williams Seawright, 95, of 375 Hwy 71, Abbeville, SC, widow of Evans Seawright, died November 21, 2004, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital. Born in Abbeville, she was a daughter of the late W. E. and Willie Belle Wilson Williams. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School and Greenwood College of Commerce. She was retired from Gleams Human Resource Commission. She was one of the first people hired when the Full-Year Head Start Program was started by what was then the Greenwood-McCormick-Abbeville-Community Action Agency in 1967. She began working as a Teachera?(TM)s Aide, and after completing early childhood education course work at Tuskeegee Institute in Alabama and at Lander College, she became a Head Start Teacher. Mrs. Seawright later served as the Head Start Social Worker for Abbeville and McCormick counties until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Bristow Sunday School Class, the Cheryl Camp WMU, and Tweenagers.She was a member of the Bouquet Garden Club, the VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Belle S. Bradberry of Abbeville, a son, Joe Seawright of Abbeville, a granddaughter, Sarah JoAnn Bradberry of Greer, two sisters: Sarah W. Agnew and Josephine W. Hinton, both of Greenwood. She was predeceased in death by brothers Eddie and Eros "Doc" Williams, and a sister, Anna W. Strickland. The family will receive friends 5:00PM to 7:00PM (TONIGHT) Monday, November 22, 2004 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at Abbeville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Reiny Koschel officiating.
