Mary W Sullivan

Mary Wertz Sullivan, 103, formally of 65 Sullivans Circle Donalds, wife of the late A.C. Sullivan, Sr., died peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at NHC of Greenwood. She was born in Newberry, SC to the late Clarence F. and Maude Chislom Wertz. Mrs. Sullivan received her B.S. degree from North Carolina State University. She was a former teacher and principal of the Due West Elementary School and retired from Greenwood School District 50 in 1976. Mrs. Sullivan was a former member of Gilgal United Methodist Church and a present member of Southside Baptist Church in Honea Path. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son A.C. Sullivan, Jr., and two sisters. Surviving Mrs. Sullivan are her son, Joseph Humbert Sullivan and his wife Pat of Donalds; five grandchildren, John C. Sullivan (Karen), Joseph H. Sullivan, Jr. (Sabrina), Teresa Ann Lake (Calvin), A. Jefferson Sullivan (Lori) and Nancy E. Vinson (Stephen) and twelve great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 4:00PM Friday, August 1, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 5:00PM Friday, August 1, 2014 in the Mt. Bethel U.M.C. Cemetery with the Rev. Travis Dyar officiating. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H.
