Maryse Chauvin Waters

Maryse Chauvin Waters, 86, wife of the late Tinsley Harry Waters, of Abbeville died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born October 8, 1926 in Marseille, France, she was the daughter of Leon and Elizabeth Chauvin. At the end of WWII, she met her husband who was serving in the United States Army. They were married in France. Mrs. Waters was welcomed in her new home and was content to spend her life here. She found great pleasure in growing flowers and being skilled in French cuisine; she was known for preparing delightful food. She loved her family; they were her pride and joy. For many years, "Maryse" provided daycare in Abbeville and touched lives with her caring demeanor. She is survived by a son, Freddie Waters, and his wife, Debbie; a daughter, Harriet Waters, all of Abbeville; two sisters, Josephine Mathiou, and Paulette Erickson, both of France; grandchildren, Jeremy Hallback, and his wife, Ashley, Julie Waters and Jennifer Waters; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Conner; and her favorite dog, Mimi. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:30PM Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home with a Rosary Prayer Service beginning at 1:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 3:00PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jeremi C. Wodecki officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Waters, may be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, P.O. Box 812, Abbeville, SC 29620. The family is at the home.
