Michael D Barton

Michael Duvane Barton, 72, resident of 451 Grace Street, husband of Hollis Brown Barton, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Hospice House. Born in Greenwood, June 18, 1942, he was the son of the late Lila Miller Lavergne and Lee Ottis and Edith Barton. Mike was a member of the Providence Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was involved with the Men's Ministry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Barton Patterson. Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are three daughters, Christine Danner, Tina Barton and Anita Rushton (Randy); two sons, Mike Barton (Teresa) and Del Barton; six grandchildren, Amanda Gouldsmith, Brandon Danner, Jonathan Sanders (Amanda), Corey Barton (Alycia), Shyann Barton and Andrew Barton; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Gouldsmith and Cameron Sanders; three brothers, Gray Barton (Carol), Chuck Barton (Mary) and Danny Barton; a sister, Mary Ann Henry (Bill); three step-children and seven step-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be 4:00PM, Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Providence Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Ben Edwards and Chaplain Deloris Rapp officating.
