Michael Dewey Holbert, 52, of Abbeville, died Monday, March 13, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Abbeville to the late Dewey W. and Jackie Drennan Holbert. ‘Mikey Mike’, as he was affectionately known, honorably served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed motorcycles, especially dirt bikes, which he rode for many years. ‘Mikey Mike’ was a big-hearted man, willing to help anyone. He is survived by three aunts, Sara White of Elgin, SC, Gail Holbert of Blythe, GA and Betty Fulmer of Spartanburg, SC; two uncles, Larry Holbert of Blythe, GA and Robert Holbert of Conway, SC; and his many friends. A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be 3:00 PM, Friday, April 7, 2017 at M.J. ‘Dolly’ Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC 29621 with Pastor Mike Evans officiating. Military honors presented by the Campbell Patriots will follow. Those wishing to attend the services are asked to gather in the parking lot of Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville at 2:00 PM on Friday to be escorted to the cemetery by the American Legion Riders. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in memory Mike, may be sent to Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Services, PO 549, Abbeville, SC 29620 to help defray funeral expenses.
