Muriel Campbell Hanna

Muriel Campbell Hanna, 90, of Abbeville, wife of the late Edwin T. Hanna, Sr., died Friday, February 23, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Calhoun Falls.  She was born in Abbeville to the late James Earl Campbell and Grace Simpson Campbell.

Mrs. Hanna was a 1950 graduate of Lowndesville High School.   She retired from the former Milliken – Sharon Plant after many years of dedicated service.  Mrs. Hanna enjoyed playing the piano and singing.  She also had a passion for flowers.  Her green thumb produced many beautiful flowers that adorned her home.  Mrs. Hanna was a member of Bells Chapel GMC and the Bells Methodist Women.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Earlene C. Hodges and Joan Dickson and two brothers, Lawrence Cleon Campbell and Harold Stuart Campbell.

Mrs. Hanna is survived by her three sons, Edwin T. ‘Tuck’ Hanna, Jr. (Mary Jane), Danny G. Hanna (Carole) and Tracy W. Hanna (Angie); daughter, Cheryl H. Patterson (Allen); brother, Kenneth Campbell; sister, Linda C. Waits; brother-in-law, Marshall Hanna; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:00PM, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, in the fellowship hall of Bells Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:30PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Curt Hanna, Rev. Scott Allen, and Rev. Corrina Gambrell officiating.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
