Nancy Simpson New

Nancy Simpson New, 77, of Abbeville, wife of Rev. Darrell New, died Sunday, August 17, 2014 at her home. She was born in Monroe, NC to the late Joel and Eva Morris Simpson. Mrs. New retired from the Milliken-Abbeville Plant after 15 years. She was a member of Congregational Holiness Church and worshipped at Bordeaux Worship Center where her husband was the minister for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Patterson, a son, Billy Ray New; two brothers, Bill and Tom Simpson and a sister, Peggy Benton. Surviving Mrs. New are husband of 61 years of the home; a son, Joe Darrell New (Anita) of Bristol, CT; two brothers, Mike Simpson of Fort Mill, SC and Harold Simpson of Willington, NC; a sister, Linda Pressley of Monroe, NC; extended close family members, Rosemary and Larry Wilcher of New Mexico and Lisa Giles of Abbeville; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 4:00PM Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in the Congregational Holiness Church. Funeral services will begin at 4:00PM in the church with Rev. Jimmy Tucker and Rev. Jerry Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the home.
