Nancy Jean Price

Ms. Nancy Jean Price, 73, of Edgefield, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Aiken Regional Medical Center. She was born October 20, 1950 in Greenwood, the only child of the late Joseph Butler ‘Joe’ and Trula Winn Price.

A 1968 graduate of McCormick High School, Jean graduated from Lander University in 1972 and proudly attended Clemson University, where she worked tutoring student athletes for Coach Frank Howard.  She began her journey in the congressional offices of Congressman Butler Derrick and Senator Lindsey Graham. Working tirelessly, she served as the manager of Senator Graham's Mount Pleasant office for 32 years before retiring. Nancy's dedication and exceptional managerial skills were instrumental in serving the needs of countless constituents. 

In addition to her education and work, Jean was an active member of Rehoboth Baptist Church and lifelong church pianist. Active in her community, she was former board member of Willington on the Way, a volunteer at the History Center, and a proud member of the Greenwood Corvette Club. She was also a proud supporter of Clemson University and IPTAY for over 50 years. Jean had an unmatched zest for life living life as she wanted, had an amazing ability to make people smile, and never met a stranger. 

Jean is survived by her partner of 25 years, Doug Timmerman of Edgefield; her cousins: Beth Price Christie (Robbie) of Parksville, John M. Price, Jr. (Mary Jo) of Lexington, Johnny Price (Joan) of Columbia, Robert Price (Jan) of Michigan, Virginia Bradford of Memphis, TN, and Marie Bishop of Conroe, TX.

The family will receive friends from 5:00PM – 7:00PM, Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 3:00PM, at Rehoboth Baptist Church, 2896 Key Road, Plum Branch, SC 29845.

The family is at the home of Doug Timmerman of Edgefield.
