Nima Jean Powell, 80, of Greenwood, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Haleyville, AL to the late John Marvin Burleson and Ovelia Moody Burleson. Mrs. Powell retired from the General Service Administration Federal Supply Service as an administrative associate. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Popham. Mrs. Powell is survived by a son, David Freeman of Oak Hill, FL; two daughters, Patricia Freeman Duncan and her husband, Art, of Abbeville and Debbie Mott of Greenwood; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A private family inurnment will be held in Long Cane Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in memory of Nima Jean Powell, may be sent to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
