Olen Gilliam Hammett, 52, of Calhoun Falls, SC, died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at her home. She was born in Decatur, GA to Betty Hughes Gilliam and the late Olin Gilliam. Mrs. Hammett was formerly employed with Mohawk Industries and Erskine College Facilities Department. She was an avid Clemson fan and of the Baptist failth. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jennings. Mrs. Hammett is survived by her husband, Robert Young of Moncks Corner, SC; her mother, Betty Hughes Gilliam of Calhoun Falls, SC; four daughters, Amanda Hammett and Rebekah Hammett both of Calhoun Falls, SC, Michelle Young and LeeAnn Dooley and her husband, Chris all of Honea Path, SC; two sisters, Linda Shiflet and her husband Donnie and Deborah Gilliam, all of Calhoun Falls, SC; four grandchildren, Alicia, Maddison, Tyler, and Corbin; one niece and three nephews. The family will receive friends 1:00pm – 2:30pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Harris Funeral Home – Calhoun Falls Chapel. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home chapel at 3:00pm with Rev. Scott Propes and Rev. Larry Hargrove. Burial will follow in Latimer Cemetery.
