Olivia Thelma Burns

Olivia "Dib" Byers Burns, 90, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Oconee Medical Center. She was born in Hickory, NC to the late Toby Council Byers and Ethleen Tankersley Byers. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Byers, and two sisters, Mary Lucy Cardwell and Peggy McCartney. Surviving Mrs. Burns are her two children; a son, Robert M. Burns, Jr. and his wife, Charmagne, of Walhalla, SC; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Chitwood, of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, C.R. Dunnavant, Tim Dunnavant, Robert Burns, III and Laura Burns Pacek; and four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Devon Joy, J.T. and Ava Lily; a brother J.C. Byers and his wife Wilma Byers of Laurens, SC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:30PM at the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery in Hartwell, GA with the Rev.
