Patricia Ann Ambrose

Patricia Anne Ambrose, a resident of McCormick, South Carolina and longtime Michigander died peacefully at home, surrounded by family on May 22, 2014, she was 76 years old. Patricia was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 26, 1938. She graduated from St. Casimir's Catholic High School earning a scholarship to Madonna College. But fate intervened when a trip to Saugatuck brought her the love of her life, Jack "the hunk" Ambrose, she was his lucky charm. They were married on September 28, 1958. And we all know what happened next… She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack (John); her children, Jeanine (Paul) Roberto (Milford, MI), Jay (Isabel) Ambrose (Fort Collins, CO), Anne Marie (Mark) Winner (Philadelphia, PA), Candace (Gil) Gamboa (Prosper, TX), and Laurie (Roch) Lachance (Battle Creek, MI); 16 grandchildren: Jason and Corey Roberto, Alicia and Jaclyn Ambrose, Alyssa, Jack and Emma Winner, Zoey Peterson, Liam, Gabriella and Patricia Gamboa, Madison, Dryden, Calder, Alexander and Jean-Luc Lachance (most of you have seen the necklace); and many special friends and extended family. Pat joins her beloved daughter Christine in heaven, where they are joyfully reminiscing. Pat had a successful career as an Executive Secretary, working for the Presidents of Sandy Corporation and Perry Drugs. Pat and Jack retired to McCormick, South Carolina in 1998 where she lived a very full life playing golf and cards; reading and joining book clubs; traveling extensively; and entertaining friends and family in her beautiful home. One of the highlights of Pat's year would be the annual Sister's Week with her 5 daughters. The girls would travel to Saugatuck, Isle of Palms, Las Vegas, and the Smokey Mountains for a week of relaxation, sun worshipping, cards, reading and laughter and of course shopping where Pat enjoyed spending Jack's money! Friends and relatives are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in Good Shepherd Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Robert Sayer officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow in the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to John de la Howe School, 192 Gettys Road, McCormick, SC 29835 http://www.delahowe.k12.sc.us.
