Patricia Ann Whitmire Lewis, 84, of Due West, wife of Kenneth Copeland, died Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at her home. She was born in Salem to the late Riley W. Whitmire and Hattie Eloise Talley Whitmire.
Pat was employed as a seamstress in the textile industry for over 30 years and her appreciation for needlework continued throughout her life. She, along with her husband, Ken, founded, owned, and operated Abbeville Pest Control. Pat’s favorite hobbies included traveling and walks on the beach during her trips to the coast. Many peaceful hours were spent outdoors – she enjoyed nature trails, birdwatching, and tending to her garden. Pat was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Lewis, Jr.; a daughter, Wanda Lewis Sherard; two brothers, Roy Whitmire and Riley Whitmire; and an infant sister, Inez Whitmire.
Pat is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Ken, of Due West; a son, Michael Lewis (Vicki) of Belton; two brothers, Jack Whitmire of Pickens and Ray Whitmire (Martha) of Salem; four sisters, Lavon Orr of Salem, Louise Orr (Bo) of Salem, Sybil Johnston (Ken) of Abbeville, and Frances Taylor (Tony) of Tamassee; a granddaughter, Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Cannon; and a wide circle of extended family and friends, whom she cared for deeply.
A private graveside service will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.
