Patricia Masters Sommers

Patricia Sue Masters Sommers, 68, of Abbeville, SC, wife of David Sommers, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.  She was born March 29, 1956, in Canton, Ohio to Emma Marie Wengerd Masters and the late William Edward Masters.

Patricia was a member of Fair Play Community Chapel, Fair Play, SC.  A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed many things in life, especially being with family that she loved dearly.  Patricia was a very talented cook and seamstress.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Hershberger and a brother, William ‘Eddie’ Masters, Jr.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 47 years, David, of the home; five children, Sharla Miller (Jethro) of Abbeville, SC, Philip Sommers (Mary) of Dover, Delaware, Judith Stoltzfus (Calvin) of Sabina, Ohio, Bryan Sommers (Danielle) of Honea Path, SC and Aaron 'Hank' Sommers of Abbeville, SC; two sisters, Connie Marie Overholt of Belton, SC and Cynthia Ann Hershberger (Dwayne) of Hillsville, VA; fifteen grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM – 4:00PM and 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Friday, May 31, 2024, at Cold Spring Mennonite Church, 168 Cold Spring Church Road, Abbeville, SC.  Funeral services will be 10:30AM, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Cold Spring Mennonite Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
